LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
Every day children will be exposed to the Italian language while having fun. Through word games, skits, music, art, cooking and outdoor activities, campers will gain an introduction to Italian or enhance their existing Italian speaking skills while learning about Italian history and culture.
During the camp session, our native Italian instructors aim to speak Italian 85% of the time, subject to the language proficiency of the students. We try to find a healthy balance between a non-intimidating yet challenging environment for the campers.
We welcome students who have no Italian language instruction, as well as students who are looking to improve their foreign language skills.
COOKING CLASSES
In this hands-on Introduction to Italian Cooking class, one day a week, students will learn Italian language and culture while preparing some of their favorite dishes like: Pizza “Margherita”, Homemade Pasta, “Salsa di Pomodoro”, Tarts “Crostata” as well as delicious fresh “insalate”.
FAMILIARIZATION TO ITALIAN SONGS AND DANCES
This is a wonderful opportunity to expose your child to a little taste of Italian music and dances. Through carefully selected songs, FUN lessons are created to allow students to learn about: the story, the characters and the music. Students will also get an opportunity to act and sing! Class will be offered twice a week.
INTRODUCTION TO CERAMIC
Clay is an exciting and magical material. In our twice a week ceramic classes, children will learn the art and craft of clay while having fun and learning Italian! This is a total hands-on experience. A wide variety of ceramic techniques will be covered in our classes: hand building, shaping clay into Pots, clay decoration and glazing.
INTRODUCTION TO MOSAIC
Let your child learn and explore this fun and ancient art form. In our introduction to mosaic classes, we will assist each student to complete a project that will be great to treasure. We will provide all the materials needed to make masterpieces. This class will be offered twice a week.
