Let's cook Italian!
THE EVOLUTION OF ITALIAN-AMERICAN CUISINE - Webinar
Join Casa Italiana Language School, and Award-Winning Author/Chef/TV Host Amy Riolo as we explore the history of Italian-American cuisine. Often misunderstood and misrepresented as “unauthentic,” the genuine culinary traditions of Italians in America are worth exploring and celebrating. In this fascinating and informative virtual tour, Chef Amy, a proud fourth generation Calabrian-American, defines six distinct categories of Italian American cuisine and how they came to be. Whether the food we eat is an exact replica of what our ancestors passed down or fusion food fashioned out of necessity, or “American” foods inspired by Italians, Italian American cuisine, when labelled as such, has much to offer. By highlighting how Italian immigrants created culinary bridges that connected our two cultures, this presentation will forever change the way we think about Italian-American cuisine.
