These terms refer to very short pieces of writing. In this club, each week before the club meeting, we will read a short story, from single-digit word stories to longer texts, but none longer than about 1000 words. During the club we will discuss the short story using the literature circle format. Each week students will take on a different role in the discussion such as cultural connector, word master, plot summarizer or discussion leader. The teacher and students will also take turns choosing stories which will represent authors from around the world.
