Anna Siciliano

Anna Siciliano was born and raised in Pozzuoli, near Naples, in Southern Italy, and has lived in the United States since 2016. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Italian Language and Culture for Foreigners from the University of Pisa and is currently completing a Master’s Degree in Educational Sciences. She is also a certified CELI Examiner through the University for Foreigners of Perugia and holds ACTFL certifications at the Advanced High Level in Writing and Superior level in Oral Proficiency.

Ms. Siciliano has over twenty years of experience working with children and adult learners in Italy and the United States. Since 2017, she has taught Italian language and culture at Casa Italiana Language School, and she has also taught Italian to U.S. diplomats at the Foreign Service Institute in Washington, D.C.

Before pursuing a career in language education, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Pediatric Nursing from the Croce Celeste Nursing School in Pozzuoli (now affiliated with Federico II University of Naples). In Italy, she worked with children and families, providing home-based care to pediatric patients and collaborating with elementary school teachers to support educational activities, school performances, songs, and theatrical productions.

Passionate about Italian language and culture, Ms. Siciliano believes that learning a language is also a way to discover a country’s traditions, history, and identity. Her classes emphasize communication, cultural immersion, and active participation in a welcoming and supportive environment.

She lives in Maryland with her husband and their two daughters and son.
