Opera embodies the penchant for art, entertainment and performance that characterizes Italy.

Names like Turandot, La Traviata, Pavarotti and Puccini are associated worldwide with this enchanting form of art.

Opera is truly enjoyed when it is well understood: learning why and when opera was born, how it was written, the composer and his works are essential tools to fully enjoy this form of music.

Casa Italiana developing a mini-course (five lessons, including an outing to the Kennedy Center to view the opera) and wants to know what you think. These classes are going to be conducted in italian and are intended for adults with an advanced knowledge of the language.
